Gali Atari - Ein li eretz acheret

Gali Atari won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978 with her song "Halleluya". So she is quite famous ;)
The first two verses are repeated various times, the last one is a variation of the first sung at the very end of the song.

This song is for Tomer, of Kibbutz Mash'abei Sade, who heped me when I was sad and always tried to be there for me. I hope he will find his way - but accept that I won't come back. I'm sorry.
Also it is a song for all those, who had another country, but left it to live in ha'Aretz, the land. It is a dificult decision and may you have the force to decide well and be happy.

Ein li eretz acheret
Gam im admati bo'eret,
Rak mila be'Ivrit
Choderet el orkai,
El nishmati.
BeGuf ko'ev,
BeLev ra'ev,
Kan hu beiti.
I haven't got another country
Even if the earth is burning under my feet,
Only a word of Hebrew
Reaches my veines,
My soul.
With aching body,
With hungry heart,
This is my home.
Lo eshtok ki ertzi shinta et paneha,
Lo avater lehazkir la,
Ve'Ashir kan be'Ozneha,
Ad sheTiftah et eineha.
I won't be silent because my country changed its face,
I won't stop to make it remember,
And to sing here into its ear,
Until it opens its eyes.
Ein li eretz aheret,
Ad sheTichadesh yameha,
Ad sheTiftah et eineha.
I haven't got another country,
Until it renews its days,
Until it opens its eyes.
Ein li eretz acheret
Gam im admati bo'eret,
Rak mila be'Ivrit
Choderet el orkai,
El nishmati.
BeGuf ko'ev,
BeLev ra'ev,
Kan hu beiti.
BeGuf ko'ev,
BeLev ra'ev,
Kan - hu beiti!
I haven't got another country
Even if the earth is burning under my feet,
Only a word of Hebrew
Reaches my veines,
My soul.
With aching body,
With hungry heart,
This is my home.
With aching body,
With hungry heart,
This - is my home.
